Let The Battle Begin (2)

Tuesday Compares: is a weekly meme usually on Tuesdays of course that will feature covers of book from the U.S and U.K against each other. I usually love to see the different aspect of how the art work of the book is played out in the covers, and I usually always end up liking the UK ones for some reason, there like more detail and just beautiful. Anyhow, on today's battle ground we have:

Lost in Time
by Melissa De La Cruz

Okay this is a book I'm currently reading, and Blue Bloods is and always will be my favorite series of all time. I love Melissa's writing, she's just amazing beyond words. But let's not talk about my obsession with her writing, and let's look at the covers. On the left we have the U.S. one with the traditional landscape of where the story takes place. It's pretty obvious. Also we have a more earth tone look, like more vivid and beautiful, and those lips oh god. They're beautiful. The feather is really put together unlike the feather in the UK cover which looks all puffy and weird. I love the lettering in the UK one, is really elegant. But there's no landscape, and the color of the girls skin is too white, and let's remember our Blue Bloods never were describe pail, but beautiful. In other words, the winner of this Battle was.
The U.S. Cover is just more vivid, and beautiful, if only we could grab the lettering of the UK it would be gorgeous. Yet, I still love the shadow of the tittle in the US one.

Description of the Book:
The stakes have never been higher for the young Blue Bloods of Manhattan. After their brief yet beautiful bonding ceremony in Italy, Schuyler Van Alen and Jack Force depart for Egypt, desperate to find the elusive Gate of Promise before Jack must face his twin, Mimi, for a blood trial. A blood trial that only one of them can survive. But everything Schuyler thought she knew about the gate turns out to be a lie, and they soon find themselves ensnared in a deadly battle against the demon-born. Schuyler and Jack take up arms, only to realize that there is a much graver threat simmering in the Kingdom of the Dead.

Meanwhile, determined to save the only vampire she still loves, Mimi has followed Kingsley Martin into Hell. With the help of her new human Conduit, Oliver Hazard-Perry, Mimi makes a bargain with the Queen of the Dead that she may soon regret. When the time comes to choose between love and revenge, both Mimi and Oliver will learn the true meaning of sacrifice.

Confronted by danger, betrayal, and loss at every turn, the Blue Bloods must find the will to fight—and love—another day.
